STEP 1: FURNITURE SURVEY
Inventory of all furniture, equipment and contents involved in a move. Measurements are taken, disassembly requirements noted and cartons estimated. Library collections and shelving, including range sizes and configurations, are also included in this Step.
STEP 2: DESIGN MOVE PLAN
RAL consultants identify a client's critical operations while becoming familiar with all locations. Working closely with the client, RAL plans an efficient move that will minimize personnel anxiety and operational disruptions. Move sequence for library shelving and collections are also laid out.
STEP 3: BID PACKAGE DEVELOPMENT
Move bidders are pre-qualified to assess their expertise and experience with like projects. RFP package is prepared for all move-related vendors. RAL meets with each bidder, conducts tours and answers technical questions to insure an impartial bid process.
STEP 4: MOVER SELECTION
RAL technically analyzes each proposal, evaluating them for practical usage of workforce, equipment and time. This forms the basis for the mover recommendation.
STEP 5: PRE-MOVE PREPARATION
Moving Memos and clinics help minimize personnel anxiety. Color-coded floor plans and tagging instructions insure that a client is ready to move. Packing Clinics provide guidance for personnel in the handling and packing of contents, equipment, and library shelving and collections.
STEP 6: ON-SITE MOVE SUPERVISION
RAL supervises the entire move process at origin and destination locations. On-site supervision insures that the move goes as planned. Being on-site, RAL can quickly resolve any difficulties.
STEP 7: POST-MOVE CONSULTATION
After the move, RAL handles damage resolution (if needed) and reviews the vendor invoices.
